We’ve made some changes due to COVID-19
Dear Brit PT Inc community,
It has been almost 2 months now since we voluntarily closed the practice in order to observe the COVID-19 situation, and specifically how it would manifest in our community. Clearly we are all on a steep learning curve, the only thing being certain is that once this virus gets a hold in a community, it’s like the genie getting out of the bottle: you can’t get it back in.
So it’s time to talk about how to co- exist with COVID-19 while minimizing our vulnerability to it. Our business is concerned with minimizing and resolving our patients pain, and much pain is accelerated by an activated nervous system: cue Stress, Anxiety, Fear and Anger. As an essential business it is time for us to make a plan to open that is methodical and intentional to serve our people.
We plan to re-open on May 11 and invite you to book online at on or after that date. Here are the steps we are implementing:
1) Each of our staff members will be coming back as and when they can given each family’s unique considerations.
2) To the best of my ability I have ensured that our supply chain is intact for our needs to run the clinic. Once we gradually open, we do no want to have to close again.
Please arrive right at your appointment time as we are avoiding people having to wait in the foyer.
3) We will be wearing masks to treat and we ask that you do the same. In addition, as you come into the practice, please take a quick left into “The Loo”, and wash your hands for 30 seconds, which is superior to using hand sanitizer.
4) You will need to pre-pay for your appointment online when you book, which will cut down on unnecessary contact at the front desk. If prepayment is a problem, you will need to call in for your appointment. We do use alcohol to clean screens after every transaction but may not have front desk help available consistently.
Please note that each treatment portion of the session will be 50 minutes long in order for us to bleach every doorknob, faucet and chair handle as you enter and exit, in addition to the bed, as is normal.
5) If in doubt don’t come in: for example, if you have any odd symptoms, an elevated temperature or think that you have been exposed. Again, standard procedure.
We are focused on effectively helping you get your pain under control, while minimizing risk of transmission of any respiratory issue. We want to create a new normal for your consistent care in our new reality.
We thank you for your patience and overwhelming support.
In Health and Harmony,
Lorraine and The Crew at BritPT
